This small act of providing a pair of gloves or a pair of socks to those in need was the catalyst to create the Hands N Feet Foundation as the vehicle to help those less fortunate stay warm and give them a sense of self worth from people that do care about them and our community. A simple personal story of how one employee reached out to help the homeless was our inspiration in creating this worthwhile and caring foundation. As the US economy struggles to recover from the most brutal economic downturn of our generation, more than ever millions of Americans are feeling the effects of our nation’s economic challenges as they struggle to make ends meet for themselves and their families. Many families who were previously living paycheck to paycheck have crossed into homelessness and the hardship faced by those that were already homeless has been magnified as funding for non-profit organizations has been strained by increased demand and decreased funding.
At Hands N Feet Foundation, we provide assistance to the homeless and less fortunate in the Greater Charlotte area through the small but meaningful gesture of giving gloves and socks to aid in providing warmth during the cold winter months. HandsNFeet Foundation is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit operation in Charlotte, North Carolina that serves to bring added warmth to our neighbors in need throughout the Greater Charlotte region through the distribution of outerwear accessories. We strive for the highest level of financial integrity and operation with 100% unpaid volunteers. The HandsNFeet Foundation was established in 2011 by the senior management team at Flores & Associates in their pursuit of a ‘hands-on’ Christmas Project for their employees to participate in during the holiday season. Through the input of one of our staff members, we decided to create our own foundation as a way to engage our employees, clients, friends and other concerned parties in an ongoing community outreach effort.
