This is Wyatt, we met him around this time last year.

This year, Wyatt is taller, he is in the 4th grade, has more hair and his community service goals were higher. He organized his second annual Socktober drive. This year, he upped his goal to 500 after collecting 340 pairs of socks in 2015. Wyatt far exceeded his goal by collecting 652 pairs of socks.

HandsNFeet Foundation will be distributing these items this weekend to Parkwood Baptist Church in Gastonia for their meals and clothing outreach project involving school-aged kids.

Thank you Wyatt for your hard work and generous spirit!

Congrats! to our HandsNFeet Foundation Board Member, Jeff Howard !!!

Jeff is being honored by AssetMark with one of 17 awards around the country called….2015 Community Inspiration Award. These awards recognize the contributions and good deeds done by folks doing business with AssetMark. Jeff is a Financial Representative with Consolidated Planning in Charlotte. The firm has been a leader in comprehensive financial services for many years. The reward results in a $5000 donation for HandsNFeet Foundation for future efforts.

We will be able to help many families with needed socks, gloves and hats. Since we operate with no paid positions… we can maximize this donation as with all donations for the good of our neighbors in need.
Since our inception in the fall of 2011, Jeff Howard has meant so much to the HandsNFeet Foundation through his personal generosity of time and treasure as well as meaningful connections to others in the community. If you know Jeff…. he will be sure that you know about the HandsNFeet Foundation. We have now helped our neighbors in need with over 120,000 items donated since we started. Jeff has made sure that we are continuing to do important work. This latest donation serves as one of the largest donations we have received. Thank you AssetMark, Consolidated Planning and Jeff Howard!

Hey Clay- Thank you for taking the time to speak with me this morning. I found out about your organization when my son Kylers school, Charlotte Lab School, collected socks and gloves last month. Kyler was so excited about getting friends and family to donate that when my workout facility was looking for a December charity we told them all about you. Everyone jumped on board at both locations and I'm excited to bring you a big bag this afternoon!

Lauren Spegal, is a senior manager in the audit practice at Grant Thornton here in Charlotte.

Following another successful HNF Jeans Day Fundraiser by the Charlotte office of Grant Thornton our HNF Executive Vice President, Clay Peddycord thanked Lauren Spegal and said… Wow! You all have participated in 4 drives and raised nearly $1600. Time flies…how did we get to this point?

Lauren shares…I am extremely passionate about serving Charlotte’s homeless community and have been a regular part of a Thursday night meal service for over 3 years. I met Clay during one of our meal services in May of 2012 as he was handing out clean socks for our homeless guests. In the colder months, the HandsNFeet Foundation provides gloves in addition to socks. I have very much enjoyed getting to know Clay and learning more about HandsNFeet Foundation and I am excited that 2015 will be the 4th year that Grant Thornton has participated in the HandsNFeet Foundation’s annual jeans day!

Clay says… We are thankful for people like Lauren helping others in our community. We thoroughly appreciate how Lauren has included her peers at Grant Thornton in our “pipeline of goodness”
